We appreciated this hotel and its great rooms and location. Bed was extra super. We found some restaurants and bars near to the property.
Staff were very nice. The room was clean.
The room was so hot, we had to leave the windows open.(That didn't even help) You couldn't adjust the heat at all, because apparently our thermostat wasn't working correctly. The front desk sent 2 people to our room the check it out.The problem was never fixed. It stayed hot. We finally asked for a fan, and they did us one, but it was a little skinny stand up fan. They did try to accommodate us, but NEVER offered for us to move to another room. We asked several other people if they had hot rooms and they said "yes", except for one lady. Here room was cold. When we checked in our reservation was for 5 people and they said "no, it was for 4 people and it would cost more money for an extra person", even though our reservation said different. This was just wrong, and another way for them to get more money out of us. Thank goodness we had another room. I would NOT recommend staying here unless you like being hot. OH, and the DO NOT have A/C.
Centrality, close to subway, excellent bed
For the price it should provide some protein, eggs cheese ham.
Location excellent, good value for money, air con worked without any problems or noise
Location was great. It felt very safe. Room was a good size. The lounge you went to for internet was very nice.
Breakfast was hopeless, we ate out. Shower rose needs updating. Very limited tv channels.
It was very central. Our room was quiet which is an unusual thing to find in Manhattan!!
The breakfast.....even though it was included, there was very little choice and it was very unhealthy!
the hotel is in a brilliant location to get to all the main sightseeing venues
Not too happy about the view of a wall from our window, it was so close that the room was in darkness the whole time and we needed lights on
Beds were comfortable, close to train, shopping Empire State building.
Room was toooooo hot had the window open constantly, valances on beds were ripped, 1 face washer for 2 people and not replacded. If you like sugar then you will enjoy breakfast. Only 1 lift for 12 floors.
Great location, 5 minutes from the Empire State building, affordable price, breakfast included in the room rate, free tea/coffee and cookies in the lounge.
No free wi-fi in the room (only in the lounge until 3 P.M.). The hotel has 12 floors, but only one elevator - sometimes you need to wait long for it.
What I liked most is the location, I never realized how central it was. I'm so delighted my work colleague recommended it. Now I knew why. The staff is generally helpful & friendly. I can definitely say I'm coming back to NewYork & will again stay in Hotel Stanford. I have already recommended it to some friends too.
I just wished that their breakfast lounge is bigger to accomodate more people in the mornings. It's just not easy rushing to eat so others can get seats. Not all people are considerate about it, you know
The location was superb! Right next to all the shops and a subway station was about 20m. The staff was brilliant too, helped us with finding restaurants and taking a subway to the Mets game.
The rooms aren't that big but no room is New York is! So in New York standards the rooms were big enough. Don't go to NYC and imagine getting rooms as big as you might be used to. Our room had a great view to the Empire State Building so can't be all bad!
Breakfast was handy, free internet from 3-7 with complimentary coffee, really nice lounge, staff really helpful and the guy on reception sorted us out with american plugs and information free of charge :)
To be honest, suited us down to the ground, excellent location, no complaints about dirt or noise ETC and everyone was really helpful, door staff were really cool too!! Pleasant stay overall, thats what ya want!
very good location, good and comfortable room
free wi-fi only in public zone, in the room it costs $10 for 24h by credit card
Ideal location near MSG
Staff were abrupt and they operate a arrangement with an unlicensed taxi driver for $55 trip to JFK whereas a yellow cab would cost $45.
I liked the comfort of the room and the space that we had in the Junior suite.
The continential breakfast wasn't set up very good. In order to toast a bagel you had to wait 10 minutes. The fruit and bagels were great, but the donuts were a little stale.
